Based on the book written by Bernard Malamud , The Natural is a baseball movie about Roy Hobbs , a baseball prodigy whose career is almost cut short by a bullet wound. Roy Hobbs starts of as a pitcher but changes into a slugger after the bullet wound and gets into the Major League. The movie deals with matchfixing and other aspects of the game as well.
